METS is the world’s largest leisure, super-yacht and small commercial vessel equipment show. Taking place in Amsterdam between 13th -15th November at the RAI Exhibition Centre, we were lucky enough to attend!

During the show we got the first glimpse of all the latest advancements in the marine industry, as well as the opportunity to strike up some trade deals to offer a new range of products to our clients.

If you follow us on facebook, you will have already seen a preview the new products we found and the relationships we developed at METS. Some of our personal favourite items are featured below:

Sailmon – The Future of Racing

The Sailmon 2018 METS stand showing off the new Eink displays alongside their various other successful displays.

We were certainly impressed at the show with Sailmon’s latest innovation; The Sailmon Element Eink display, designed to work with data gathered on your smart phone – turning it into a HUD via these simple yet stylish units.

The Sailmon Logs app is the key to the partnership with the Eink display as the application turns your smart phone into a full sailing processor. The app allows you to display live data on the Eink display, enabling you to keep your device safe and dry, somewhere out of the way!

Navisafe – When the lights go out…

Navisafe emergency and navigational lights on a rail mount display.

It wasn’t just Sailmon that caught our eye – we saw the light at the NAVIsafe Stand! Navisafe Emergency Lights fill a gap in the market for a simple, durable and effective emergency light.

These are perfect as emergency and navigation lights on board any boat. With a simple double magnetic system these lights are super easy to install, needing only one screw to mount the magnetic base, meaning it can be attached almost anywhere onboard.

The light is activated through a push button on the top and is battery operated, with its highest setting enabling approximately 15 hours of use.

NautiBuoy – Next Generation Toys

NautiBuoy METS Stand which featured a fully inflated platform.

The final product of our highlights is a great solution for creating extra space onboard your yacht. This solution comes in the form of NautiBuoy Inflatable Platforms.

These platforms are super fast to inflate, simple to set up and easy to pack away. With the largest platform (4m x 2m) inflating in only 3.5 minutes, these platforms are the easiest toys around! Once deflated these platforms stow down to a convenient size to save on storage.

Benefitting from being super lightweight, the platforms make for an amazing space addition for any size of yacht. If you’re interested in some extra sunbathing space or a hub for all your water sports activities then NautiBuoy Platforms are the perfect product for you!

Crewsaver & Survitec – Saftey First

As well as all the great products we saw at METS, we also managed to strike up a new trade relationship with Crewsaver & Survitec. We are now proud to announce we are able to distribute their full range of products.

With over 50 years of industry experience, Crewsaver is recognised as one of the foremost suppliers of lifejackets and dinghy sailing equipment in the world and is a market leader in the marine safety sector. Notably, Crewsaver are the supplier of choice for lifejackets to the RNLI and supplied  sailing, triathlon and canoeing marker buoys to the 2012 London Olympics.

So if you need a new lifejacket, liferaft or any other safety essentials for the new season, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Not all work at METS…..

It wasn’t all work though; Gordie and I managed to take some time out of our busy schedule and compete for the chance to win an iPad with a larger version of the classic Buzz Wire. Needless to say we didn’t win the iPad!

Our director Matt however, just missed out on the Top Spot putting in a fantastic time with only one buzz on the whole course!

METS was a very productive and informative show; we can’t wait to attend next year.
