Che | Sunreef Catamaran
Che was shown at the Barcelona Show in the Spring and although spotting her from across the marina, I didn’t get a chance to get onboard so I was excited to see she was also on show in Antigua and wasn’t going to miss her again.
Che was bought over a year ago and refitted. With the owner onboard, I was able to to hear a bit about the refit project and see how proud he was of this amazing catamaran – and rightly so!
The rear dining, seating and sun bed areas are huge, there is no other way to describe it, you could swing a cat! Heading into the saloon, again such a huge amount of space is felt. All the interior wood is bamboo which is environmentally friendly as it’s the fastest growing wood in the world and also very light rather than traditional wood.
When modernising the cabins they have changed some of the natural bamboo walls to white giving the cabins a more modern and light feel. All bathrooms have been refitted with new showers and sinks.
Che also has a water purification pump so you can drink the water from the tap and they supply all guests with refillable bottles, reducing significantly their plastic bottle waste.
Heading back outside we went upstairs onto the fly bridge / top deck, another large area with sun cushions and smaller dining area, looking forward you can see the trampolines between the hills and some of their water sports equipment.
Che has a Tiwal sailing dinghy, inflatable stand up paddle boards, kayaks, fishing gear, waterskis and a wakeboard. Whats more, another great crew who were a lot of fun and lots of laughter.
They hosted a drinks party later in the week which was excellent. With two types of cocktails on and offer and canapés on tap, I think we tried them all, simply delicious, it was difficult not to overstay our welcome!
Che sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 cabins and is based in the East and West Med in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter. Her weekly rates are €75,000-€79,000 / week.
