LAUREL

When I received my invite for breakfast on Laurel it wasn’t something I had to consider for very long but in fact they had such an overwhelming response they decided to hold two! I also managed to get Matt an invite too as I knew this was something he wouldn’t want to miss.
Bloody Mary heaven! Breakfast Spread
Walking down the dock and being welcomed on to a mega yacht was a pretty amazing feeling. We were taken onboard, given chilled hand towels and then whisked up to the second deck. There the large table was laid for 12. To one side was the Bloody Mary and juice bar and the opposite side was the breakfast buffet; fresh fruit platter, quiches, granola pots, crepes, “not your mama’s biscuits” home made sausage patties on top of biscuits/English muffins. Cappuccino were served with the Laurel crest in cinnamon.
Our tour was with Captain Roy and he was fantastic. The interior is more traditional than some of the newer motor yachts, lots of wood with gold trimmings but not overwhelming. We headed through into the interior dining room, the ceiling is like the night sky with the stars glistening. As we headed into the accommodation the master cabin is full beam with large windows each side making it very light, with a private balcony and huge bathroom with twin showers, truly fit for a king.
All of the accommodation was beautifully presented, upon entering the last guest cabin it had been converted into a treatment room and I remembered that as well as breakfast we had also been offered a massage, there was two spots left so Matt didn’t need to be asked twice and he was all booked in to return in an hour!
Master Cabin Private Balcony His & Hers Bathroom
The main staircase taking you between decks had a stunning glass panel with fish, turtles and dolphins on it. Outside on the upper front deck is a drinks bar and seating area. What’s more, there is a gym to burn off all the delightful food you are definitely going to eat. We also got to look in the engine room, absolutely spotless which is always good to see. Then into the ‘water sports garage’ also running the beam of the ship with what looked like everything you could ever need or dream of.
Laurel is an incredible yacht with a crew headed by a fantastic captain, I walked away with a wonderful warm feeling that I wasn’t sure could be delivered from a yacht that size.
