About Us

diYachting, or Disco Inferno Yacht Charters as it was called back then, was founded in 2001 by Matt & Lizzie Abbiss. Having spent 12 years working full time on board sailing yachts as crew and managers chartering in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and UK, covering over 100,000 miles together.

After their final yacht was sold to a private owner they decided to move ashore and focus their time on high quality yacht management and charter of luxury crewed  yachts which has evolved to reflect the ever expanding yacht charter market.

diYachting has gone from strength to strength with the team and products changing to fit with the needs of owners and their yachts. We are selective with the yachts we manage and charter manage to maintain the highest quality service.

Superyacht, sailing or catamaran, diYachting is here to guide you to the best yacht for your needs.

How it all began

The original company name Disco Inferno Yacht Charter’s came from the series of yachts called Disco Inferno that Matt & Lizzie owned and managed, this became abbreviated to diYachting when the limited company was formed in 2012.

Disco Inferno was originally a Sigma 33 back in the 90’s and early 2000s, then came a Beneteau First 47.7 and finally a CNB Bordeaux 60, all of which Matt & Lizzie managed and crewed full time. In 2012 they hung up their sea boots and moved ashore taking on the management of a second Bordeaux 60.

Matt & Lizzie might have “washed up” ashore but the Disco Inferno legacy lives on, they first had Disco Inferno 3.1, a 19’ Sandhopper keelboat at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club and in 2022 she became an RS Elite at Hayling Island so they can still get out on the water and go racing….. just for fun!
